Description
Performs intermediate technical work auditing, verifying, and reconciling all money receipted through the County, accounts payable, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Finance Director with oversight from the Lead Fiscal Specialist.
Examples of Duties
JOB DUTIES:
1. Audits, verifies, and reconciles money received from all County Departments.
2. Verifies audits and enters vouchers from all departments to ensure timely payment.
3. Assists department heads with financial reports related to grants.
4. Assists department heads and Lead Fiscal Specialist with bidding and maintaining contracts.
5. Enters audits and maintains multiple fiscal spreadsheets for tracking and auditing purposes.
6. Invoices for goods and services as needed for departments.
7. Inputs (data entry) and posts journal entries in financial software.
8. Assists Finance Director with maintaining capital assets.
9. Assists Lead Fiscal Specialist with vendor maintenance.
10. Assists Lead Fiscal Specialist with County fleet vehicle oversight.
11. Performs other job duties as needed or required.

Essential Qualifications
Associates/Technical degree in accounting, finance, or related field and moderate experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, finances, administrative operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.

Familiar with County and department policies and procedures to include emergency and inclement weather policies; general knowledge of audits; general knowledge of spreadsheets; ability to prioritize and manage multiple, concurrent projects; attention to detail and ability to effectively organize time and anticipate, plan and successfully respond to changing circumstances; ability to reconcile and administers fiscal records; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to operate and use standard office equipment; knowledge and ability to use standard office and position-specific software; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other departments, vendors and the general public.
