Sarasota National is a resort-style community that includes 2 Clubhouses, a 32,000 square foot Palm Club, a 5,000 square foot Golf Club on 2,100 Acres with 1580+ members, and $1.5M in annual F&B Sales.

We are an Audubon cooperative sanctuary offering food and beverage, 18-hole golf, tennis, pickle ball, bocce, resort pool, tiki bar, fitness classes, massages, personal training, golf lessons, wine, and a notary.

Fitness Coordinator

SUMMARY: The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for leadership, management, and maintenance oversight of the Fitness Center. They will lead and manage this department to ensure a superb member experience. The Fitness Coordinator is expected to have knowledge of the latest wellness trends in equipment, routines, products, and services, and proactively bring those into the community. The Fitness Coordinator interacts with members and guests visiting Sarasota National and exhibits upbeat hospitality while offering professional guidance and encouragement as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESincludes but is not limited to the following:

  • Greet, interact with members and guests and provide personal guest services
  • Provide fitness center orientations to new owner prospects and new residents
  • Promote interaction and communication with current residents
  • Manage community needs involving the fitness center
  • Participate in Recreation Committee and Management Meetings as necessary
  • Regular interaction with staff and management from all areas of amenities
  • Develop and maintain fitness class schedule and calendar(s)
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized fitness center including stocking appropriate items
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and supplies including coordinating repairs as needed
  • Manage and enforce fitness center rules
  • Hire, train and coordinate activities and submit payroll for all instructors and personal trainers
  • Provide accurate class rosters for billing
  • Invoice all fitness classes including orientations or any special fitness-related activities
  • Maintain retail fitness-related inventory such as shirts, etc.
  • Budget preparation and financial reporting and review for the operation of the fitness center
  • Prepare monthly fitness center deposits if applicable
  • Develop fitness class forms, flyers and notifications as needed and/or as designated by the Recreation Committee
  • Provide newsletter and weekly Friday update content
  • Track fitness participation results and analysis
  • Oversight of fitness center cleaning and maintenance services
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and timely responses to member and staff inquiries
  • Assist the Director of Racquets & Recreation as needed and as time permits

Experience Required3 years’ experience as a fitness professional with previous management in the fitness industry preferred. Must be CPR certified within 30 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook; Knowledge of EZ Suite and Club Essentials a plus; Demonstrate good leadership skills; Exhibits excellent customer service skills; Excellent organizational skills; Works well with a team; Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays; Possesses strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure; Ability to multi-task; Is a quick thinker and able to adapt to situations effectively; Must be punctual, professional and personal with members and co-workers.

Pay: Starting at $20 per hour

Schedule: Day shift; Weekends as needed
