Position Description: This position reports to the Center Director and will have both internal and external facing responsibilities. The position delivers Nia fitness programming to adults. This position is as needed to complete the schedule of NIA classes offered at various centers. Specific work schedule based on program schedule and need for substitute instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately follow a lesson plan, but make modifications as needed to adjust to the group dynamic.
- Teach small and large groups of adults within an allotted time, adjusting to accommodate group and space size.
- Collect, maintain, and present relevant data related to programming.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with staff at program sites.
- Drive to program locations according to a pre-set schedule.
Typical Qualifications
- Completion of relevant course work or other related experience.
- At least one year of experience working with adults of various ages and backgrounds.
- English fluency.
- Confidence in public speaking, strong voice projection.
- Dynamic, engaging, able to connect with participants.
- Able to manage a classroom.
- Highly enthusiastic, energetic, motivated, creative, reliable, punctual, trustworthy and able to maintain positive and professional communication with facility staff and students.
- Access to reliable transportation to get to work at various sites within the City of Raleigh.
- Pass a criminal background check and controlled substance test
Additional Information
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience in the program area is required.
