The Fleet Management department is responsible for managing all inbound and outbound activities for a fleet of drivers in a manner that is safe, productive, and timely. This position is at the center of an unpredictable, deadline-driven environment and requires individuals who are capable of making appropriate decisions in real time.
The role | An Operations Management Trainee is responsible for
- Learning the business from the ground up through our hands-on training program that includes exposure to driver and equipment management, customer service, and transportation logistics.
- Maintaining a high level of engagement and cultivating positive working relationships with your fleet of assigned drivers.
- Reviewing scheduled pick-up and delivery appointments daily.
- Confirming that each driver is fully informed of all customer and company expectations on every load at the point of dispatch.
- Coordinating drivers’ scheduled home time, downtime, current status, and predicted time available.
- Addressing safety non-conformance and violations/incidents.
- Escalate matters impacting on-time delivery to appropriate departments as they occur.
Candidates should expect to spend the majority of their day making/receiving calls.

- You are self-motivated with a desire to learn about the growing transportation industry.
- You are highly adaptable with strong multi-tasking ability.
- You can type at least 40-45 wpm.
- You are computer proficient and able to navigate between multiple programs.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
The details | What are the hours, pay, and location?
- The trainee position is full-time working Monday-Friday, daytime or Night hours. After the training period, you are assigned one of the following shifts:
– Day Shifts – 5 day work week, including every 3rd weekend
- Monday through Friday, 5:00am-2:30pm / 7:00am-4:30pm / 8:30am-6:00pm
– Night Shift – 5 night work week, including every 3rd weekend
- Sunday through Thursday, 5:00pm-1:00am / 9:00pm-5:00am
Pay changes as follows:
- Operations Management Trainee – $18.50 per hour
- After the initial training period, Driver Managers are paid salary plus additional incentives based on driver safety and performance.
