The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Flight Simulation Associate Software Engineer to join the Flight Simulation Labs team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
The Flight Simulation F18 Development and Integration Team is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, integrate, and test real-time models and operator-in-the-loop simulations of aircraft systems and displays. These models and full mission simulators are utilized in the validation of current operational avionics and sensor systems, as well as in the prototyping and development of next generation systems, for the F18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment, as well as working creatively in all phases of the software development life cycle.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Supports software project management and software supplier management functions
- Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics
- Performs software research and trade studies
- Troubleshoots software issues
- Works under general supervision
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Department of Defense Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
- 2 plus years’ experience with C++
- Experience Object-Oriented methodology
- Experience with Embedded Real-time software development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active US Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance
- Experience with Windows development environment
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience with C#, Git and Jenkins
- Modeling & Simulation software development experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range for Associate: $85,000.00 – $115,000.00
