Overview

The Food and Beverage Lead provides management to all levels of the assigned business operation. The Food and Beverage Lead will actively supervise, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards, and will communicate to the manager of all employment actions. The Food and Beverage Lead will actively manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant and cooperative work environment.

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required.

This role will pays a wage of $18 to $19.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the effective management of the business operations within a hospitality environment.
  • Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies, if applicable. Monitors alcohol service throughout event to assure 100% compliance with Alcohol Service policies. Effectively and compliantly addresses any alcohol service or compliance issues immediately.
  • Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice, including independently initiating and authorizing any employment action deemed necessary.
  • Supervises employees on the proper instructions on food handling, cash handling and work safety rules.
  • Provides on-going direction, supervision and mentoring to hourly staff. Monitor product quality and ensure high level of guest service.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical problems with Point of Sale Systems, from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Responsible for supervising the opening, closing and balancing of any and all accounting practices, as necessary.
  • Responsible for the on-going training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly employees, as directed by department managers; responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Responsible for the management of events from set-up to tear down, including handling all communication with hourly staff, culinary staff and guests.
  • Hands-on approach to cook times, quality and execution.
  • Able to protect branded concepts through audits and compliance processes.

Qualifications

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification.
  • One year of experience in the industry.

Employee must be able to pass a Oneida Gaming Background check.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Valid Food Handler’s certificate as required by state and/or county of venue.
    • Valid Alcohol Service Permit as required by state and/or county of venue.
    • Basic computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+.
    • Working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
    • Cash handling abilities; basic math skills including significant number manipulation.
    • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to clearly speak read and write in English.
    • Functional competencies in initiative, food production and services; computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
