SIUE Dining Services is seeking candidates for 2 full-time, Food Service Administrator-I positions within the Morris University Center. SIUE offers various progressive dining venues, including a contemporary food court, catering services, cafés, kiosks and convenience stores. Dining Services takes pride in achieving excellence and answering the demands of a growing university, while maintaining fiscal responsibility and integrity.
The Food Service Administrator-I will supervise and assist with production, service and general administrative duties for the assigned Food Service unit. The selected candidate will maintain sanitation quality and directives, provide training for employees, and evaluate job performance, providing proper feedback and evaluations. The Food Service Administrator I will also monitor customer service/relations by addressing, responding to and resolving customer needs, questions, and concerns.
Additional duties include:
-Ordering and/or requisitioning food and supplies in accordance with established specifications;
-Taking monthly inventory and maintaining accurate records;
-Ensuring all cash handling and POS functions are performed in an accurate and consistent manner;
-Meets with license representatives regarding new products and promotions;
-Periodically reviewing unit operations and making recommendations for improvements.
The Food Service Administrator-I may be assigned additional duties in support of the department’s mission and goals.
The shift times and work days for this position will vary based on department need. Shifts may include days, evening, and weekend hours. Applicants need to be able to work shifts as needed.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
-Coursework in business, dietetics, culinary arts, food science, nutrition, hospitality, hotel, catering, restaurant, or institutional management, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
-Food service supervisory work experience.

Posting Salary:
$21.00 hourly, excellent benefits package.
