Position: Associate Director, Transaction Management / Strategic Alliance (TM/SA) Specialist
The Impact
- Design and build licensing governance framework for S&P’s Market Intelligence division (MI), and contribute to commercial policies and best practices policies, documents, and workflows. In doing so, collaborate with the greater Strategic Alliances team, sales, product and business development leads, account managers, and marketing and legal teams.
- Work alongside sales, product and legal stakeholders to support licensing and distribution of MI’s products and services across various vendors, service providers and other key strategic partners.
- Drive business’s ability to implement multi-channel partner licensing and collaboration strategy and co-manage complex partnership licensing arrangements that drive revenue generation.
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will act as a strategic advisor and provide expertise to MI on redistribution and other partner/channel management licensing frameworks. The candidate will be developed to become a data and software licensing specialist with the ability to evaluate, structure, draft and negotiate term sheets and agreements with vendors, service providers and other key strategic partners.
- This position will require analysis and workflow prioritization across a large book of business.
- The candidate will work with key internal business stakeholders to design, implement and manage a governance framework, commercial policies and best practices to drive consistency and scalability for content licensing.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years in financial services, software/technology/data/professional services, and/or information technology ecosystem.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to tactfully and competently challenge the status-quo.
- An individual who excels in detail-oriented tasks while still grasping big picture goals and values.
- Experience with intellectual property licensing frameworks, transaction lifecycles, and the ability to draft templates and negotiate transaction proposals and agreements.
- Ability to balance protection of MI’s IP with advancement of creative partnership opportunity, revenue generation and business growth.
- Drive to proactively identify and resolve complex problems in fast-paced strategic partnership negotiations using commercial and legal awareness and in-depth industry expertise.
- Initiative to prioritize high volume of inquiries (both from internal and external sources).
- Highly motivated individual capable of both self-direction and team collaboration, who is full of initiative and adept at working effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
- Undergrad degree required. Prefer advanced degree. Candidates with legal education and experience given preference.
- Preferred experience includes coordination with sales, product management, legal, partnership, and/or content teams. Experience and grasp for servicing global clients.
Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $135k to $165k. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
