DESCRIPTION

Under close supervision the incumbent will work in the Eating Disorder Center to perform a variety of duties related to patient food services. They will assist with kitchen and dietetic assistant operations including patient meal service set up and clean up, transportation of food within the clinic, maintaining clean and dirty pathways, restocking tasks in food service and staff lounges, patient snack preparation and delivery, patient supervision and chauffeuring, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • ServeSafe or Food Handlers Card certificate.
  • Experience working in a hospital, clinical or school food service operation.
  • Demonstrated dishware washing/storage/inventory experience.
  • Ability to follow health codes that require prescribed uniform, hair covering and good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to absorb new information and build new skills in food handling, sanitation and safety.
  • Skill in organizing work and ability to follow basic sanitation requirements.
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the position.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with California health codes for food safety and preparation.
  • Equivalent training or knowledge/ability to pass SD county food safety exam.
  • Kitchen operations and/or ordering experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $39,463 – $39,463 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $18.90 – $18.90

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
