As Foster Program Coordinator, you get to make a positive impact on the lives of pets each day by connecting them to foster parents and temporary homes outside of the Seattle Humane shelter. You are the match maker, who is the expert in our foster pets’ histories. Your making lasting connections telling our pets stories to foster parents and helping coordinate veterinary checkups and appointments. You get to do all this on a team that’s known to be welcoming, responsible, and lifelong learners. They are a team that has each other’s backs and have a lot of fun fawning over animals they work with.

  • You connect deeply to animal welfare and Seattle Humane’s mission, goals, and Vision for 2026 for the future.
  • In previous jobs, you’ve needed to use people skills to connect products or services with customers face to face, by phone, and email.
  • You’ve advocated for animals and their needs through adoption, veterinary care, or foster care.
  • Your team members would say you’re calm through the storm. You have knack for planning and are self-motivated to juggle multiple responsibilities.

To thrive in this role, you need to have experience making knowledgeable requests to customers, clients, or the public, through a variety of forms of communication. You also need to be comfortable work with the dirty work of animal care in a shelter and veterinary setting. We’ll teach you everything else you need to know.

Work Hours:

Full-time non-exempt position. 40 hours per week scheduled, five days a week. Schedule may vary depending on coverage by other department staff, holidays, or emergencies. Requires occasional on-call after hours availability for Foster Emergency Line calls.
