Full Stack – Software Developer

Responsibilities

PERATON is seeking a Senior-level Full Stack Software Developer with hands on experience who will be part of a collaborative and agile team that supports and builds modern, standards-based responsive web application for mission-critical government health IT solutions. Uses expertise to design develop, code, test, and debug software. Works with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives. Provides analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases. Confirms design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation. May perform as a project lead with the responsibility for the instruction, assigning, direction, and monitoring of the performance of assigned systems developers / analyst working on a specific project.

Performs tasks necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of hazards within software systems using various analysis tools and techniques. Reviews and evaluates systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety.

What you’ll do:

  • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
  • Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • .NET developer with hands-on experience building modern end to end web applications.
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit testing tools like NUnit is a plus.
  • Extensive use of unit testing and integration testing strategies, delivered simultaneously with working code.
  • A solid understanding of front-end design, prototyping and converting wireframes to responsive web applications with Angular.
  • Well conversant with various automated testing tools to validate the application and build tools.
  • Sound knowledge about best practices in coding, scripting. Attitude to enforce them on developers to adhere to best practices.
  • Passion for continuing education and improving code quality through interaction with development team. Perform code reviews and be able to suggest and influence design decisions.
  • Understanding of Oracle and AWS.
  • Experience in testing tools and frameworks like Jasmine, Protractor or similar.
  • Experience in developing modern responsive web applications with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap etc.
  • Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 9+ years’ experience, or a master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience – OR – an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Possess a solid understanding and experience in front-end design, prototyping and converting wireframes to responsive web interfaces with Bootstrap.
  • Extensive experience with C# and ASP.NET MVC/ .NET Core / .NET Web API core framework concepts and fundamentals.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with .NET.
  • Minimum 5 years ASP.NET MVC, .Net and C#
  • Minimum 5 years TSQL or SQL.
  • Minimum 2 years working within formal software development life cycle structure.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with Postgres, MySQL or MongoDB.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in agile environments with tools such as: Jira, Git, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Medical Claims industry, standards, practice, and processing systems
  • Experience with Mainframe in place modernization practices as well as cloud migrations
  • Relevant Business and IT Architecture Certifications such as TOGAF, COBIT, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) etc.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in agile environments with tools like Jira, Git, and Confluence.
  • Candidates with proven certifications and socially available profiles that demonstrate the body of work and participation in modern collaboration hubs.
  • Prior experience with legacy and cloud databases/storage solutions and demonstrated expertise in data migration to public cloud platforms at scale
  • Demonstrated expert engineering knowledge of legacy mainframe program languages such as COBOL and JCL along with modern languages such as Java, Python along with modern technology stacks.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Amazon Web Services Architect Certification
  • Experience working in government healthcare IT
  • Experience working on projects for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • Experience with web service development including SOAP or RESTful web services.
  • Experience with developing modular, Angular applications, isomorphic JS applications with ReactJS, Flux or Redux or similar

Target Salary Range

$112,000 – $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
