Currently, a vacancy for a full-time Painter exists within the Administrative Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position will lead planning efforts for waterproofing and painting projects. This position will also inspects buildings, document interior and exterior finish coating repair requirements for all Buildings located on Coatesville’s Campus, but not limited to other owned and or leased CCIU’s facilities. Position will be required to work 2nd shift Tuesday’s through Saturdays.
Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Valid Pennsylvania State Driver’s License
- ACT 34, ACT 151, FBI clearances
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads and/or guides the work of other maintenance personnel during painting projects; provides training and monitors performance if needed.
- Plans work; estimates job costs and selects materials.
- Surveys buildings to determine repairs needed and develops schedules for completion.
- Applies paints, sealers, and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as block, plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood.
- Performs building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks.
- Uses mechanized high-reach equipment to renew caulking on exterior building panel seams, windows, and doors.
- Performs special refinishing tasks including wood surface preparation, staining, and sealing.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts.
- MUST under go certified training for operating lifting device, (Boom lifts, scissors lifts)
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- This position is regarded as Essential Staff and is subject to Emergency Services such as snow removal duties:
- Operating plow/salt vehicles/equipment, shoveling during all snow storm(s)
- Other duties and responsbilities as assigned
2023-2024 Salary:
$24.71 to $27.05 per hour
Maintenance B
Work hours:
Position will be 2nd shift Tuesday’s through Saturdays. Saturdays can be day shift, which will require the employee to carry out Building checks.
