This professional position is within the Bureau of Women, Infants and Children (WIC). You will be working in a team environment helping to improve the nutritional health status of financially-eligible and nutritionally at-risk women, infants, and children in Missouri by supporting the fiscal operations of staff providing nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support, supplemental food and referrals to health care. Joining our team offers the challenging opportunity to provide fiscal operations support to 115 local public health agencies and over 600 retailers to serve over 90,000 Missourians. Flexible scheduling may be considered. A hybrid remote work arrangement may be considered after successful onboarding.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as liaison to WIC local agencies to ensure all invoices and payments are processed and documented correctly within guidelines and within a timely manner.
- Assist with WIC local agency financial monitoring.
- Provide training on program application and invoice processes.
- Assist with budget development and reconcile expenditures.
- Run monthly budget reports and review for accuracy.
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many competing priorities.
- Ability to take administrative guidance and direction to complete projects and tasks with minimal oversight.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills.
- Two or more years of experience with budget and procurement processes.
- Prior experience with all Microsoft applications. Extensive experience with Excel is preferred.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
