The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Game Theorist/Applied Mathematician (Senior or Subject Matter Expert) to join the Supply Chain Strategy and Intelligence group located in Berkeley, MO; Everett, WA; Huntsville, AL; Mesa, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Ridley Park, PA; or Seattle, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports supply chain decisionmakers by projecting outcomes based on probability.
  • Develops and utilizes data analytics tools to visualize critical information.
  • Acts as primary point of contact to represent Supply Chain Strategy team on program commodity strategy discussions, supplier strategies, risk mitigation, and overall business and global supplier business intelligence.
  • Represents BDS supply chain on enterprise, commodity or complex, strategic supply chain initiatives.
  • Develops integrated view of the future business environment and opportunities.
  • Refines and validates problem specifications and formulates problems in mathematics terms.
  • Develops complex algorithms and evaluates resources to solve mathematical problems.
  • Teams in mathematical research activities and monitors trends.
  • Contributes to development of proposals.
  • Influences functional decision makers to use mathematical tools and processes.
  • Assists in forecasting future mathematical needs and capabilities.
  • Designs, codes, tests and maintains mathematical software tools.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience managing program, including identifying risk probability and consequence?
  • 5+ years of experience handling data and systems involving machine learning/predictive analytics
  • 5+ years of experience in database management, programming, statistical modelling and/or machine learning (SQL, R, Python, JMP, Tableau, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience developing and delivering presentations for executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s or higher in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, bioinformatics, economics, computational biology, physics, or chemistry
  • Experience with cross-divisional collaboration
  • Experience gathering customer requirements

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience, 13 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Subject Matter Expert: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience, 18 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Travel:

This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Everett, WA Senior: $132,600 – 179,400 Subject Matter Expert: $158,100 – 213,900

Huntsville, AL Senior: $124,100 – 167,900 Subject Matter Expert: $147,900 – 200,100

Mesa, AZ Senior: $124,100 – 167,900 Subject Matter Expert: $147,900 – 200,100

Oklahoma City, OK Senior: $115,600 – 156,400 Subject Matter Expert: $137,700 – 186,300

Ridley Park, PA Senior: $132,600 – 179,400 Subject Matter Expert: $158,100 – 213,900

Seattle, WA Senior: $132,600 – 179,400 Subject Matter Expert: $158,100 – 213,900
