Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
Position Summary
Manages teams directly or indirectly who ensure the prompt and efficient execution of field orders related to emergency response, establishment of gas service, response to customer-generated field requests related to gas appliances, and Company equipment compliance and maintenance work for PG&E facilities. Oversees field services and work in a defined geographic region. Provides safe gas services while maintaining compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. Promotes safety leadership and a safety culture among all employees for themselves, customers, and the general public.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Minimum: $136,000.00
Maximum: $232,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with legal, Federal and State regulations.
- Contacts customers and work with internal and external resources to resolve advanced and complex issues within mandated timeframes.
- Manages Emergency response.
- Promotes employee engagement at every level of the operation with a focus on sustained and improved performance.
- Ensures work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Five (5) years of operational experience
- CA Class C License, or equivalent
- Subject to random DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Travel within PG&E’s service territory is required
Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in customer service, or related
- Experience in utility field service, or related
- Leadership experience, union-represented employees
