PAY RANGE: $32.92
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

We are recruiting candidates for a General Design Technician at multiple locations, wage rate $32.92 per hour. Please find below a list of the minimum requirements for the position. Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Initiates, processes, and follows up customers’ requests for service. Processes, calculates, and collects required customer contributions, including lot charges and refundable deposits. Completes field observations, inspections, necessary right-of-way and easement documents, and notations necessary to complete detailed construction plans for construction, maintenance, removal, and replacement work including bills of materials and cost estimates of materials, equipment, labor, and metering requirements. All work on drawings and job plans will be completed in accordance with Company Construction Standards, Policies and Procedures and will include, but not be limited to, the following types of work: 1) Coordinate new installations, upgrades and alterations of existing low voltage (120v-480v) residential and commercial services 2) single-phase line extensions for individual homes or buildings 3) Area light and street light design and layout 4) Other single-phase projects not part of a large system or engineering project. Utilizes any equipment necessary to perform job, including computer equipment and related software. Perform similar and related work consistent with the general nature of this job classification, and other duties as assigned.

General: Must have qualifying ratings from an evaluation process related to workplace success skills. Must be licensed to drive as required by state law. Must demonstrate ability to work individually or in a team environment and effectively communicate to employees and customers.
Education and Experience Requirements: High School required; college preferred. Satisfactory completion of courses in Algebra, Practical Electricity I & II or AC/DC courses at the high school level or above and Electrical Distribution System Fundamentals or equivalent experience with primary and secondary voltage distribution systems.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Technician Occupations Selection Systems (TECH)
Experience: Prefer knowledge of primary and secondary OH/URD construction methods and materials and prefer familiarity with distribution systems of an electric utility. Experienced in using a computer, including usage of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software programs.
