Position Title: General Foreman

Pay Rate: $34-38 per hour

Essential Functions:

The General Foreman is responsible for verifying and ensuring quality workmanship, customer satisfaction through project preparation, walkouts, permitting, and cathodic protection coordination; assist supervisors and foreman during project activities; and quality control of restoration activities. It is critical for this position to establish and maintain a professional, trusting, and respectful relationship with customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Meets client and operating company standards related to gas construction work in accordance with our core values.
  • On site when Foreman is not available and takes on all necessary foreman responsibilities
  • Must maintain full Operator Qualifications up to date.
  • Performs pre-walk projects prior to construction.
  • Works closely with administrator to maintain an accurate schedule for procedure activities.
  • Performs walks based on project specifications to revise and review client specifications.
  • Keeps legible hand-written accurate records including daily work logs.
  • Completes all work in an organized, timely manner, within standard operating procedure.
  • Attends pre-construction meetings and uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether processes comply with operating company and utility standards.
  • Performs project Quality Control
  • Verifies and confirms project preparation actions with supervisors using appropriate established job checklists.
  • Photographs and documents job site conditions in advance of job activities
  • Assists supervisors with project needs through pickup, delivery, and exchange of equipment and tools at job sites.
  • Delivers job packets and documentation to job sites.
  • Works with third party inspectors to confirm that procedures are being followed as written.
  • Prepares clear and concise written reports and forms including vehicle mileage reports, daily time sheets, work completed document.
  • Travel is required.

  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Proven ability to analyze job locations for utility lines, permitting, and traffic control to complete construction activities without quality defects, safety incidents or any type of property damage.
  • Proficient in completing daily inspections and reporting of maintenance issues on vehicles, trailers, and equipment
  • Must maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers

Experience and Education:

  • Three (3+) plus years’ experience in construction or underground utilities is required.
  • One (1+) plus years’ experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Moderate map reading skills with basic knowledge of the Colorado Front Range Area. Working knowledge of symbology and proposed construction work orders is preferred.
  • Moderate knowledge of computer software applications, computer use including the internet is required.
  • Experience with a one call center (i.e 811) or similar is preferred.
  • Ability to distinguish colors to mark utilities according to the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) guidelines is required.
  • Effectively communicates via email, phone, and in person with appropriate parties, keeping management, inspectors and customers apprised of progress, damages, completion and/or pertinent issues is required.
  • Ability to work independently and identify when issues should be escalated.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in meeting supervision, customer, and client needs.
  • Ability to distinguish colors to mark utilities according to the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) guidelines is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required..
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
