Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Task Manager with a background as a Geologist, Environmental Scientist, or Environmental Engineer in our Hillsborough, NJ office.
This is a position for a dynamic individual looking for career growth in environmental consulting and the environmental remediation market. This full-time position is expected to support environmental investigation, remediation and permitting projects, and will be working alongside and supporting multiple projects and project managers.

Role accountabilities:

  • Assist Project and Associate Project Managers (PM/APM) with managing scope, schedule, and budget for tasks including well installation, well abandonment, site investigation, injections, and other field work.
  • Client and regulatory correspondence
  • Support PM/APM with financial management
  • Evaluate data to (1) support conceptual site models for environmental investigations, (2) delineate the nature and extent of contamination, and (3) modify and optimize post-remedy long-term-monitoring programs,
  • Technical report writing and review
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals
  • Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders
  • Coordinating work schedules with Arcadis staff and subcontractors
  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits
  • May require some regional travel for field visits up to 20% of the time
  • May supervise staff

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience with task management to include controlling scope, schedule, budget, and ensuring adherence to Health and Safety Requirements
  • Working familiarity with NJDEP regulation
  • Cost estimating experience – candidate should have experience with routine environmental tasks (e.g., field sampling technologies and methods, lab coordination, subcontractor oversight, etc.) to develop cost estimates for establishing budgetary estimates
  • Previous environmental sampling experience
  • Previous experience with subcontractor procurement and management (e.g., preparation of request for bids, preparation of scope of work, ensure work is completed in accordance with scope of work and H&S requirements)
  • Candidate should be health and safety focused, and able to work successfully in a team setting

Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:

  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience with NJ remediation projects
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER (8-hour annual refresher if applicable)
  • Experience around heavy equipment, excavation, chemical injection, and construction work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of NJ State regulations
  • Experience working on projects with greater than $100,000 net revenue
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER

The salary range for this position is $81420 – $122130 dependent on experience.
