Join our team as a leader in developing and operating cutting-edge Geospatial Intelligence analysis software. Collaborate directly with operational users to design, develop, and maintain a powerful platform that enables analysts to convert diverse data into actionable intelligence. In this Geospatial Software Engineer role, you will work with other developers and teams to establish an enterprise GIS tool suite for the Intelligence Community, utilizing a combination of COTS,FOSS, and GOTS software. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from system and application design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Additionally, you will contribute to the integration of capabilities from external systems and bring a passion for automation and modern Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) practices.
As a Geospatial Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of advanced Geospatial Intelligence analysis software, utilizing your expertise in GIS, machine learning, microservices, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices. Your work will directly impact operational users, enabling them to gain a decisive advantage in decision-making over near-peer adversaries. Clearance:
- Active Top Secret clearance with willingness and ability to obtain an SCI and CI polygraph
- US Citizenship Required
Technology Stack:
- Python (including ArcPy)
- ArcGIS Online ecosystem
- SQL
- Docker
As a Geospatial Software Engineer, you will…
- Develop applications with modern COTS and FOSS GIS technologies
- Bring knowledge of geospatial data formats (vector and raster)
- Utilize GIS Web Services such as ArcGIS REST Services or OGC services (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS)
- Work with Geospatial APIs (ArcGIS Server/Portal, Geodatabase, Etc..)
- Work with Web Mapping APIs such as Openlayers, ArcGIS JS API, leaflet
- Develop using modern languages such as: Python, Ruby, Java, C#, Javascript, etc.
- Utilize rapid prototyping and Agile based software development methodologies
Geospatial Software Engineer Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Operational and configuration experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, Geodatabases, and other extensions to the ArcGIS Baseline
- Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
Additional skills we’d like to see:
- Understanding of machine learning concepts
- Experience with development in microservice based architectures
- Understanding of web application development concepts
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Kafka
- AWS experience
- Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and software CM processes / tools (Subversion, GIT, JIRA, Confluence)
- Demonstrated experience with building DevOps pipelines for enterprise systems
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure as code applications (Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
- AWS Certification (Developer, DevOps and/or, Architect, etc.)
- Security+ Certification
$90,000 – $170,000 a year
Salary is commensurate with experience.
