Volt is immediately hiring for a GIS Editing Specialist in Coeur d’ Alene, ID.
As a GIS Editing Specialist you will:
Assist the GIS Edit team in maintaining our client’s gas and electric facilities through a geo referenced data model (AFM).
The GIS Editing Specialist position includes reviewing, correcting, and translating all finished construction designs into the geodatabase. The GIS Editing Specialist takes paper drawings from CPC’s that contains edits, notes, changes. They then incorporate these edits into the original designs and create the final work product in the system.
This position requires communication with multiple team members regarding status and technical issues that arise. The GIS Editing Specialist position requires using ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop and online software.
This is a fulltime opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of experience in GIS
- Strong proficiency using ESRI software, including ArcGIS 10.2.1, Arc Online, and Arc Catalog.
- Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Ability to create, edit and project a variety of data sets and databases to generate a variety of map products involving multiple disciplines.
- Ability to compile and extract geographic data from a variety of sources including field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing databases.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills; and analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Work on multiple projects while managing schedule and budgets; ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage workload effectively.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively and pleasantly communicate and work with clients, project managers, members of project teams, and other staff.
Pay Rate: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour.
