Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs comprises a global team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of a number of COE functions in areas such as Brand, Media, and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Within Global Marketing sits the Investment Banking marketing team, responsible for end-to-end marketing strategies and programs for the entirety of the division. Working across our classic IB activities of M&A advisory and financing, the team leads integrated marketing strategies across messaging, brand, content, social, paid media, client engagement, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.

Role Summary
We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Analyst to support the content strategy driving the Investment Banking marketing team, reporting to the team’s head of content strategy. The role will take a journalistic approach to content marketing – unpacking the latest macro & market trends, innovation in the capital markets, thematic trends across industries (i.e. AI, ESG, Healthcare) and the role M&A plays to transform markets and the global economy. The role will involve writing and editing for IB’s flagship client newsletter, pitching and drafting content for both the public facing and client facing web and partnering with the social & paid media to develop copy for individual posts as well as broader comms plans. The role will interact significantly with the global content team in the Executive Office to develop and distribute any public-facing IB content.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as key contributor to IB’s flagship client newsletter, “On our minds this week…” distributed to global corporate clients
  • Write timely, intelligent thought pieces for email, web and social that highlight business innovation, drive client engagement and serve to both elevate the brand and drive lead gen
  • Work directly with head of content strategy and other members of IB marketing team (social, paid media) to initiate and develop comms/amplifications plans for content campaigns
  • Develop relationships with bankers to source real-time insights through deal activity and client conversations to deliver the most authentic GS voice to all content products
  • Work closely with EO Content team to source and develop thought leadership content for promotion through internal and external channels, which may also include video and podcasts
  • Work closely with head of content strategy to measure & track marketing impact (ie email engagement, social metrics, etc) as well as with senior leadership to optimize and evolve strategy on an ongoing basis
  • Proactively seek out new ideas/mediums/agencies to improve and grow our multimedia content strategy
  • Ensure professional oversight of all projects, timely delivery of assets and a high standard of excellence on all projects

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in either a content strategy/journalism role or a fast-paced markets or markets communications role
  • Experience establishing and managing projects, processes and communications
  • Detail-oriented problem-solver who is able to employ sound judgement, critical thinking and swift decision making with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and external clients/other stakeholders
  • Impeccable attention to detail, particularly in written communications
  • Fast learner, ability to leverage personal and organizational network to drive results
  • Team-oriented, with confidence in interaction with multiple stakeholders and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; able to manage and execute effectively on multiple, time-sensitive projects, with keen sense of urgency
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$110000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
