Global Head of Product & Engineering

Aon is looking for a Global Head of Product & Engineering who will be responsible for driving our product strategy and structure, for the management of standards and best practices for product engineering, and for leading our product teams, and helping to create industry leading client service experiences.

What the day will look like

The successful candidate will define the value stream’s purpose and roadmap to delivery digital solutions across the firm; establish and lead products and programs across multiple functional areas including product roadmaps, revenue/value realization, feature/benefit velocity of delivery, quality, client experience, investment and critical metrics to deliver all activities related to the value stream and client experience; and facilitate value stream-level delivery. All delivered in line with industry standard methodologies, Enterprise Architecture, dev/sec/ops delivery standards, and in service and partnership to solution lines, regions and within and across Aon Business Services

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for overseeing product roadmap development and overall product strategy and integrated roadmaps
  • Be responsible for development and usage of Product Management and delivery standard processes
  • Set, be responsible for development and management of standards and best method for full stack product engineering
  • Responsible for resource strategy and capacity management and assignment across Product Teams
  • Supervise development of full stack engineering talent
  • Advise the delivery of programs through active sponsorship, leadership and involvement in specific initiatives to ensure they meet time, cost and quality requirements
  • Implement an effective review, reporting and presentation structure
  • Conduct value-stream program evaluations inclusive of backlog management and feature release methodology
  • Prioritize and allocate talent and resources across value streams and portfolios
  • Lead iterative investment planning, prioritization of investments and allocation of capacity to portfolios
  • Develop and enhance relationships with key partners

Skills and experience that will lead to success

FUNCTIONAL

  • Deep experience in managing complex global programs and cross-functional organizations
  • Experience in leading multiple global and sophisticated business-led programs projects to quality, time and budget
  • Functional experience in specific business functions pertaining to the value stream
  • Exceptional track record of delivering products that meet their value realization goal through collaborative, cross functional delivery

Technical

  • Deep engineering experience and proven understanding of how to the technologies are applied in the scope by best-in-class companies to drive revenue, client experience and overall value for the firm
  • Global network and knowledge of industry and technology with deep understanding of cloud, data & analytics, product management, imbedded AI/ML, engineering, and evolving dev/sec/ops standards with demonstrated ability to develop and take to market global products and platforms that are sustainable and at scale
  • Understanding of the architecture and implications of global products including data standards including but not limited to PII, GDPR, etc.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum 15 years’ related experience
  • Desire to not only lead an impactful global team, but be a member of a successful global team creating a vibrant culture with boundary-less leadership
  • Proven experience leading global product delivery teams across multiple service lines with successful implementations of products from start-up through scale
  • Previous formal people management experience leading global product teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients and vendors to cultivate and maintain strong relationships at a most senior level
  • Strong market presence within the industry
  • Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing)
  • Entrepreneurial demeanor with high level of accountability for efficiency and client satisfaction
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and lead projects and direct reports
  • Ability to drive team(s) to deliver the highest in service, quality, and results
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound business decisions
  • Known problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests creative solutions
  • Ability to adopt and inspire change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals
  • Professional demeanor with a culture-creating positive attitude

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $300,000-$400,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon’s annual bonus incentive plan, and long-term incentive plan.
