About the Role

The Media Activation team is responsible for providing thoughtful and exciting recommendations for Search, Social, Display, and Video, owning supplier relationships, and then executing those recommendations expertly. The Media Activation team leverages their mastery of each channel to make sure its recommendations are consistently excellent and innovative, and that in-channel performance and data integrity is maximized.

The Cloud Global Activation Director is responsible for delivering category-defining capabilities and services across regions and channels. Success in this role involves providing strategic insight for Cloud product areas across channels, owning best practices across paid media activation, and guiding the regional teams toward global strategy.

The Global Activation Director must have a 201-level understanding of performance channels, including platform processes/limitations and areas of risk. This person will be accountable for relationships with global media owners/partners, will steward global QBRs/Audits, and will oversee quality of work across the regional Media Activation teams. Some of the things we’d like you to do:

  • Oversee the execution of Cloud campaigns globally, by working with Media Activation teams in North America, EMEA, APAC and LATAM
  • Collaborate with regional channel leads to develop best in class media recommendations and new best practices
  • Be the primary point of contact between the Media Activation team and global stakeholders, both internal & external
  • Gain a strategic understanding of the client’s business and KPIs
  • Develop strong relationships with key clients and platforms, leading team communications with these stakeholders
  • Provide direction and ensure continuity of approach across regions
  • Ensure adherence to controls and best practices across all channels
  • Identify and evaluate new platforms, partners & integrations and provide a POV for Cloud
  • Be proactive in spotting trends across regions, as well as other opportunities to share learnings or enhance our activity
  • Support the team Client Service lead in capacity planning & resource management for the Media Activation team
  • Manage risks & opportunities for the client pod including escalating necessary issues

Required Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience at Associate Director level in a Digital Media or Advertising role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Media/Advertising or a related field; Proven experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven Project Management, Leadership and People Management experience

Required Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of media fundamentals e.g. reach, frequency, channels, formats, reporting, KPIs, etc.
  • Extensive experience with activating and directly managing large-scale media campaigns across some of the following platforms: Google Ads, Bing Ads, DV360 or other DSP, Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Experience with Google stack, plus GMP & Google Ads certifications (desirable)
  • Experience of managing vendor relationships
  • Regularly contributes to platform best practices and campaign processes
  • Experience with running campaigns across multiple countries / languages
  • Experience with managing a mid- to large-sized team across a range of experience & seniority levels
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are particularly important in developing client relationships and maintaining efficient communication across the team
  • Great analysis skills (including quantitative analysis) and confidence in making information based decisions
  • Strong understanding of optimization levers & testing approaches

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $230,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
