Responsible for performing clerical and routine manual work in operating and maintaining a golf course pro shop.

SUPERVISION

General supervision is provided by the Manager of Golf Course.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
  2. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
  3. Answer the telephone; provide information to the public; make golf course reservations; and take messages as needed.
  4. Receive and record daily green fees, and annual tickets; promote and sell pro shop merchandise; and balance and prepare daily deposits of monies received.
  5. Rent golf carts to customers.
  6. Receive, coordinate and record tee time reservations and monitor play on golf course to ensure smooth play.
  7. Answer public relations questions regarding golf course and clubhouse operations.
  8. Perform custodial tasks in and around the clubhouse including but not limited to vacuum cleaning, sweeping, mopping, window cleaning and dusting.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

EXPERIENCE

  • Six months of general clerical and customer service experience.
  • Golf experience preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Shift Schedule Varies: Monday – Sunday; 6 am – 9 pm
  • 10-20 hours per week, hours will vary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Part Time and Seasonal Employees:

PARS ARS 457 Plan enrollment is mandatory for part-time and seasonal employees who work less than 1,000 hours per year.
Each pay period, 6.2% of wages will be deducted from pay and deposited into your PARS ARS account. Contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.
Each pay period, the City will also contribute the equivalent of 1.3% of wages into a PARS ARS account. Employer contributions are deposited on a pre-tax basis.
There is no contribution to Social Security Administration.
