Description

Being a Licensed Counselor – Disability Community at HAWC you will be responsible for providing services to adult survivors of domestic and sexual violence living with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities using a trauma-informed, evidence-based and client-centered approach while assisting clients working toward self-sufficiency. The Licensed Counselor will facilitate group and/or individual counseling services at a variety of community-based partner locations in order to reduce barriers commonly encountered by individuals within this population.

Your Schedule:

  • Full Time
  • Monday – Friday
  • Three days a week 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Two days a week 11:30 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Work Model: hybrid
  • Local Travel: 50%

Our Total Compensation Package:

  • Starting Salary Range: $63,407.18 yearly

Qualifications

The Requirements We are Seeking:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology
  • LMSW, or LCSW, or LPC or LMFT
  • A minimum of three year’s counseling experience working with adults.
  • A minimum of six months experience working with groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English, preferred.
  • You have a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation.

What you Deliver in this role:

  • Provide group and/or individual counseling services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence living with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with community-based locations that provide services for individuals living with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities.
  • Provide training to incoming staff, volunteers and community partners on domestic and sexual violence survivors with disabilities.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient management of program.
  • Mandatory Reporting: report suspected and prior abuse/neglect to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services when appropriate.
  • Advocate at HAWC and other agencies on behalf of adults and children.
  • Communicate concerns about clients to supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation of services.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
