RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Information
The Compliance division at CSS is seeking a Governance, Risk and Compliance Lead to manage Regulatory Affairs programs. The Lead will manage the Regulatory Gap Assessment Program, Regulatory Exam Remediation and Required Reporting to the Regulator. The Lead will also assist with special projects. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational/management and critical thinking skills plus experience in operations, risk, program management or similar. The role is a manager level and reports to the Senior Director, Governance, Risk and Compliance.
Managing the Company’s compliance is critical to supporting the business, and this role will play a key part in ensuring a well-controlled and compliant environment at CSS. This is a visible and dynamic role that interacts with management and external stakeholders.
Key Job Functions
- Manage Regulatory Gap Assessment Program, including tracking review and assessment, assessing remediation of gaps, review of controls and procedures, working directly with management stakeholders.
- Manage Exam Remediation Program, overseeing internal clients’ remediation of regulatory exam findings, including creating remediation plans, assessing interim progress, working with internal clients to understand their process and solutions, and communicating to management on remediation status.
- Manage Call Reporting and Quarterly Conservator Scorecard, reviewing content with an analytical mindset and communicating with internal stakeholders to finalize.
- Manage reporting to external auditors for SOC and Financial Statement Audits.
- Manage and administer special projects based on departmental needs, also intended as growth opportunities such as presenting to senior management, developing new initiatives and representing the department on cross-functional teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of five years of related experience-compliance or business operations manager, risk or audit manager or related.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills
- High level of reading comprehension, able to read and understand regulations, guidance, and risk and control language.
- Strong writing skills and ability to develop detailed documentation including control test plans, training plans, and related materials.
- Talented, energetic and engaged team player, who effectively manages programs and initiatives, identifying problems, finding solutions, and suggesting improvement opportunities.
- Superior management and operational skills, able to prioritize work on multiple projects, identify and categorize follow ups, determine next steps and obtain buy in from stakeholders.
- Strong leader who builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, empowering others by providing support and information as needed.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to advise business process owners on compliance practices that enable innovation and growth.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, reasoning ability, logical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in the usage and functionality of Microsoft Office Products, specifically: Teams, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint.
Pay Range $128,073 to $223,024
CSS’s pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law. CSS offers a competitive total compensation package, which includes a performance bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage, PTO, and a broad range of other benefits.
