Grant Compliance Manager

General Description of Position:

The Grant Compliance Manager will administer financial reporting and compliance for grants, foundation accounts, sponsored programs, and/or special projects as designated by the Director of Finance. Financial administration will be reported under the parameters established in a grant, partnership agreement, or college accounting standards. The individual is also responsible for working with various constituencies that may include employers, agencies, students, college personnel, and other community partners consistent with the goals of the grant/project.

Major Responsibilities:
• Maintains grant and contract fiscal tracking, reporting, and compliance with regards to contractual obligations.
• Provides periodic reports for grant administrators as needed and prepares financial analysis including any interim and final reporting.
• Accounts for grant and contract assets, liabilities, revenues and expenditures in accordance with GAAP, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares account analysis and account reconciliation as directed.
• Responsible for submitting report data associated with the project or grant outcomes and for disseminating grant or project results to various constituencies.
• Develops and monitors budgets and oversees physical resources associated with the grant or project.
• Review for and follow up on exceptions identified by Systems Office and respond in a timely manner, taking appropriate corrective action, such as journal vouchers or budget modification requests.
• Participates in training as needed to stay abreast of appropriate technical areas.
• Ensures integrity of budgets and fixed asset information for grants, sponsored programs, special projects and foundation accounts.
• Coordinate with Development office and monitor lvy Tech Foundation account balances to ensure the budgeted amounts are spent within timeline granted.
• Interact with Systems Office Sponsored Program Accounting and Grant Office staff to ensure compliance with College policy and procedures as the campus Grants Finance Designee. Execute grant compliance monitoring at the campus level.
• Maintain a database of current and past grants, including budget summary and contact information; follow College retention practices. Utilize Workday & other finance systems.
• Work with Fixed Asset contact at the campus to ensure grant equipment purchases are appropriately identified, inventoried, and disposed of in accordance with both College and granting organizations policies.
• Ensure payroll redistribution on grant funds are linked to time and effort certifications, preparing manual certifications if necessary.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience preferred. Three (3) years of progressively responsible grant/project management experience. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Grant writing experience a plus. Appropriate technical, computer literacy, time management and teamwork skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and initiative to follow through with grant/special projects. A willingness and ability to travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
