We’re currently searching for an in-person Graphic Designer to join the ExperienceVT Marketing and Communications team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. Here’s what you need to know about the role:
1) You’ll be joining the ExperienceVT Marketing and Communications team; a team centered on uplifting the student experience and promoting customizable student experiences for all.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for ExperienceVT, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
3) The Graphic Designer will design and create electronically produced communication and marketing assets, graphic elements, display materials, and signage for ExperienceVT departments following university brand guidelines. This position is an in-person position.
4) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
5) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $40-45,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a graphic design focus
- Experience in graphic art production, or equivalent training and related work experience
- Previous experience using MacOS and Adobe Creative Cloud; specifically, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator in a professional setting
- Demonstrated professional experience:
- Designing for both print and digital applications.
- Designing quality publications, marketing fliers, signage, logos, presentations, and graphics for social media within the constraints of a style guide.
- Exercising a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Working independently with little supervision and, more importantly, successfully operating within a team-based environment.
- Establishing and maintaining productive and effective relationships with diverse and multicultural populations.
- Must possess:
- Excellent interpersonal, as well as written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills that include the ability to prioritize.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience designing for a university using university brand guidelines.
- Knowledge of printing processes and techniques.
- Previous experience with a project management system.
- Experience managing and mentoring employees or interns.
