Graphic Designer, Print

Killscreen is an arts and culture organization committed to advancing the practice of interdisciplinary play. Founded in 2010, we seek to drive the intersection of design, culture, and impact through cross-disciplinary collaboration to show the world why play matters. We want to break down the barriers that have traditionally segregated play and games from other creative disciplines and foster a diverse community of creators with ambassadorial relationships to the world around us.

We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer, Print to work on catalogs for our exhibitions and zines for events.You will be responsible for creating visually compelling designs that promote the organization’s mission to advance the practice of interdisciplinary play. This role will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop design concepts for various print materials. The successful candidate will have a strong design aesthetic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Create design materials and layout for various printed materials such as zines and short exhibition catalogs
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure the highest level of design quality and production for all materials
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including design concept, proofing, and final production
  • Ensure all brand materials adhere to the company’s established brand guidelines
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions with the team to develop new ideas and concepts for projects
  • Stay informed of industry design trends and best practices to ensure the organization’s designs remain fresh and innovative
  • Ensure all designs are delivered on time and within budget

Requirements

  • Need to have
    • Strong knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and/or other graphic design software
    • Demonstrated experience in print design, including layout, typography, and color theory
  • Nice to have
    • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
    • A strong portfolio showcasing previous work in print design.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in graphic design in a print-focused environment
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Benefits

Contract role: pay is hourly. $25-35/hour depending on experience.
