Graphics & Web Designer

Responsibilities

The position will work closely with the customer directorate level leadership and communications team to create designs for web pages, interactive media, other multimedia projects to enhance their visual style. The candidate must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite including Visio and have demonstrated experience in bringing print narratives to life through design. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated success serving as a visual change agent for an organization’s division, supporting long-term initiatives, and strategic goals. The Graphic Designer routinely addresses shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, and last-minute requirements to accomplish tasks.

Duties:

  • Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.
  • Plans, analyzes, and creates original visual solutions to communications projects.
  • Identifies the most effective way to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.
  • Develops design concepts and implements designs for new web pages, mobile applications, newsletters, ads, infographics, banners, illustrations, logos, and other types of digital content that will be presented online.
  • Coordinates with UI/UX designer in Knowledge Management, to ensure graphics products provide an engaging and user friendly experience.
  • Uses perspective, isometric, orthographic, and schematic techniques to prepare technical and non-technical illustrations and line drawings for slide presentations, view graphics, reports, brochures, etc.
  • Develops material for Internet Web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects.
  • Gathers relevant information by meeting with clients, creative or art directors, and by performing own research.
  • Work closely with Communication team, provide graphic development support for analytic and other communication products across the center.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling graphic products to convey strategic information to Senior stakeholders across the Sponsor organization and broader IC.

Qualifications

  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7
  • TS/SCI with Poly level clearance is required
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling “stand-alone” graphic products
  • Ability to leverage a variety of tools such as:
    • Adobe suite, Maya, PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage complex projects and schedules with multiple objectives and priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders across organizational boundaries to accomplish mission goals
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Target Salary Range

$146,000 – $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
