TThis position is responsible for maintaining city property grounds, parks and fields, and performing tasks in maintenance and upkeep of city parks and beautification areas, which will require the use of various types of equipment, e.g. mowers, tractors, ATVs, backpack blowers, string trimmers and edgers. Duties include mowing, edging and working in flower beds; handling turf maintenance and athletic field preparation; cleaning restrooms and removing litter; performing general repairs and basic maintenance of park structures; and assisting with irrigation system maintenance and chemical application. Six months of related experience; the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance; and the possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Class C Texas driver’s license are required. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is beneficial. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., but schedule may also include some holiday and weekend hours. There is potential for some overtime.

- Individuals hired into this position will receive $1,666 after their first 30 days of employment provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
