Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Guest Services Coordinator, the Guest Services Staff is responsible for greeting customers, registering customers for Park District programs/memberships, taking payments, providing quality assistance and accurate information, enforcing Streamwood Park District policies and procedures, and maintaining a professional and positive customer experience.
Park Place is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. This is an at-will position.
This is a part-time position. Hours may vary with the ability to work additional shifts on an as-needed basis. Please note the shifts you are able to work on a regular basis.

Qualifications/Education
• Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Preference given to candidates with two (2) years’ related experience in customer service.
• Candidate must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and complete work with multiple interruptions.
• Candidate must be Red Cross CPR and AED certified within six (6) months of hiring.
• Candidate must be able to read and write in English; however, preference given to Bi-Lingual candidates.
• Candidate must be able to utilize and work with a computer daily.
• Candidate must be able to implement the District’s Mission, Vision and Core Values into the daily operations of the Guest Services desk.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Employee must provide excellent customer service which includes, but not limited to, resolving customer issues, comments, complaints, and concerns.
• Employee must operate the computer and utilize Rec Trac.
• Employee must stay current with Streamwood Park District programs guide, programs, special events, membership sales and services.
• Employee will be responsible for the monetary transaction, i.e., program registration, membership sales, daily visits, refunds, rentals, and other items.
• Employee will develop households for members for registration and membership services.
• Employee will correspond with patrons regarding late payments relating to programs or EFT’s.
• Employee must answer phones and forward calls or take messages as needed.
• Employee must direct patrons to proper activity areas.
• Employee must always dress in business causal clothes.
• Employee must attend regular staff meeting as scheduled.
• Employee must cover all shifts or find a suitable substitute when unable to work assigned hours.
• Employee must screen emergencies and alarms, administer first aid and complete accident/incident forms as needed.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
• Employee must create enthusiasm and interest and be positive and supportive of the Streamwood Park District.
• Employee must adhere to the Streamwood Park District policies and procedures as set forth in the Part-Time Personnel Policies manual as well as the Safety manual.
• Employee will maintain and appropriate customer service attitude.
• Employee may have control of keys to the facility.
• Employee may have other functions such as, but not limited to, issuing locks, wristbands to pass holders and daily users.
• Employee must perform all other duties as assigned.

• Employee must be able to follow directions and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
• Employee must have the ability to read and understand materials, such as, but not limited to, rules and regulations, books, manuals, and schedules.
• Employee must be able to make decisions objectively based on customer service and fiscal constraint.
• Employee must be able to troubleshoot issues and problems associated with the assigned areas and facilities.
• Employee is responsible for keeping organized records and reports.

Psychological Considerations
• Employee must have the ability to work independently in day-to-day operations with general direction from the Guest Services Coordinator or Recreation Manager.
• Employee must have the ability to delegate work where appropriate, to accomplish tasks most effectively.
• Employee must have the ability to work with a high degree of professionalism and empathy with the public and staff.
• Employee must be able to work in a team atmosphere, while promoting the District’s mission statement, vision and core values.
• Employee must have the ability to maintain self-control and composure to solve moderate to difficult customer services situations.
• Employee must exhaust all options before handing over a situation to a Full-time staff member.
• Employee must have the ability to receive constructive criticism and supervision.
• Employee must have the ability to be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
• Employee must possess enthusiasm and drive with a desire to accomplish goals and objectives.

Environmental & Physical Demands
• Employee will frequently operate and handle office equipment.
• Employee must have the physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site and be able to perform moderate manual tasks.
• Employee may be expected to perform duties which include, but may not be limited to, prolonged standing, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of time.

Hourly Non-Exempt Non-IMRF
$13.00/hour Non-Exempt, Non-IMRF
$14.00/hour Opening Shifts beginning at 5:00am and 6:45
