Position Title: Gymnastics Instructor/Coach

Salary: $15/hr+ based on experience

Work Days: Monday – Saturday based on available classes

General Description:To teach and coach participants the fundamentals, skills and rules of tumbling/gymnastics in a fun and safe environment.

Duties & Responsiblities:

1. Report to the Tumbling/Gymnastics Coordinator or Athletics Supervisor when needed.
2. Maintain current CPR and Standard First Aid Certifications. (training will be provided)
3. Work with the Tumbling/Gymnastics Coordinator to design each session program.
4. Prepare daily lesson plans.
5. Inform Athletic Supervisor of any pertinent matters as they relate to scheduling, gym usage, etc.
6. Make decisions regarding the placement of gymnasts in each program level.
7. Work closely with participants to ensure safety.
8. Motivate participants to achieve higher levels in the gymnastics program.
9. Become a NYSCA/ASEP certified coach (if applicable).
10. Administer First Aid according to the Park District’s Communicable Disease Policy.
11. Understand the Park District’s safety procedures and requirements.
12. Attend in-service trainings and meetings as directed by Supervisor.
13. Assist all employees of the Park District as needed.
14. Resolve differences and problems that arise with patrons and work together with employees.
15. The Tumbling/Gymnastics Instructor must exhibit good problem solving ability and good judgment in keeping with the mission of the Park District.

Education & Experience:

1. Experience working with children desired.
2. Experience in Gymnastics/Tumbling desired
