This role is the Head of Product Management for Circuit Protection & Controls products, including Safety Switches, Disconnect Switches, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, Power Circuit Breakers, IEC Controls and NEMA Controls. It is part of the Siemens Smart Infrastructure operating company, Electrical Products business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of product managers and specialists, including portfolio strategy, product roadmaps, new product introductions, pricing and overall product lifecycle management. This is an excellent role for an experienced product management professional in the electrical industry, or for an individual with an engineering, business marketing or sales background that has a strong aptitude and desire for product portfolio management responsibilities. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated, possess strong communication and teamwork skills, have experience in the electrical industry and have experience successfully leading and motivating teams.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

  • The overall responsibility of this position is to manage the Circuit Protection & Controls Product Management Team.
  • Responsibilities include Portfolio Strategy (from inception to obsolescence), development project sponsorship and oversight, pricing and profitability analysis and intervention, cross-segment collaboration, executive relationship management, and development & disciplinary responsibility of direct reports.
  • This is a cross-functional role that will involve regular coordination with many departments including but not limited to R&D, application engineering, marketing, sales, business development, logistics, pricing, finance, and data management. Estimated travel in this role is approximately 10%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Management or Business Marketing
  • 10+ years of experience in professional work environment.
  • 5+ years of product management, marketing, sales, logistics or R&D experience preferably with electrical or electromechanical products.
  • Proven experience successfully leading and motivating teams.
  • Proven experience in product lifecycle management (PLM) or general project management.
  • Strong technical aptitude – ability to interpret, author and edit technical product specifications and other documents.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal / non-verbal and technical / non-technical.
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage diverse product management staff and activities per a schedule.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (~20%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with electrical distribution products, specifically Safety Switches, Disconnect Switches, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, Power Circuit Breakers, IEC Controls or NEMA Controls.
  • Experience with SAP and Tableau
  • Master’s degree in business, Engineering or Engineering Management with an electrical or mechanical focus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting and data-based decision making
  • Experience managing a team of technical or marketing staff
  • Advanced experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with Siemens COMPAS tool
  • Experience with International logistics, Sales & Operations Planning, 3rd party manufacturing, brand label management or procurement
  • Experience with Agile business deployment and/or abilities for portfolio deployment.

  • The pay range for this position is $117,000 – $200,700. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
