Head of Project Management – Rail Infrastructure

What you will do for Siemens Mobility:

The Team Lead for Project Execution is a position with regional scope and will require approx. 25% travel within North America, with the occasional business trip to Europe. You will interact significantly and collaborate with customers, internally with Management, Sales, Finance, Project Management, Service, and Business Management. There are three primary responsibilities:

  1. Lead customer communication and coordination for the successful execution of multiple projects
  2. Lead a team of Project Managers, Project Planners, and Project Coordinators
  3. Lead the Revenue Forecast process for NAM.

Additionally, as head of a large Project Team, seasoned Project / Program Managers, and all business phases, we’re looking for a hardworking engineer who systematically coordinates sophisticated problems with an unwavering sense of direction. Project Engineering duties:

  • Defines, implements, and improves global standards for project business.
  • Determines development and continuous improvement of the global PM@Siemens policies and standards.
  • Oversees and manages all critical Project Management programs.
  • Takes final decisions on organization-related budgets and decides on resource allocation.
  • Initiates and supervises continuous development of Project Management infrastructure.
  • Takes care of effective risk management measures for the Project Management organization assigned.
  • Ensures that assigned Project Managers meet all agreed performance goals.
  • Acts as personal advisor to the unit’s Senior Management in all Project Management-related issues.
  • Leads a designated Project Management organization, which may include Project Management Office.

Qualifications:

  • Successful hands-on experience in rail signaling-related project bidding and proposal management, contract management, and scheduling
  • Minimum ten years of proven experience with multi-year and multi-million dollar successful project management.
  • BS/BA in a related subject area or advanced degree, where required – Electrical Engineering preferred. PMI/EPMA Project Management Certification
  • Externally recognized technology specialist in the respective field who uses their network
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry and product-related technical information.
  • Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills while working under time pressures and constant interruptions.

The base salary range for this position in New York, NY, is $140,400 – $240,700, and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
