Reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list for this title OR current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 2, G-25 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above G-23 and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Deputy Director for the Division of Home and Community Based Services, the successful candidate will utilize the principles of effective management and training to support oversight and monitoring of home care and hospice providers; identify, develop and implement education and training opportunities for internal and external stakeholders; spearhead quality assurance activities; and foster ongoing communication with other program areas within the Office of Aging and Long-Term Care and Department as a whole. In addition, the successful candidate will supervise a team of professional staff; generate and analyze surveillance reports; participate on interagency workgroups; respond to individuals and entities representing residents and operators of providers as well as to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; identify opportunities for improving efficiencies and patient outcomes; and perform other duties as assigned.
