Provisional Transfer Candidates: Current NYS DOH Employee or Office of the Medicaid Inspector General with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as: Community Nursing Services Consultant (Home Health Services), Fire and Safety Representative, Health Care Surveyor 2 (Nursing), Health Systems Specialist 1, Health Systems Specialist 1 (Emergency Medical Care), Health Systems Specialist 1 (Funeral Directing), Health Systems Specialist 2 (Physical Therapy), Health Systems Specialist 2 (Nutrition), Health Systems Specialist 2 (Social Work), Hospital Nursing Services Consultant, Regional Medical Care Administrator, Senior Nutrition Services Consultant, or Senior Sanitarian.
Preferred qualifications: Candidate must have experience with the operation and regulations for Adult Care Facilities, including the working knowledge of the different levels of care provided. Must have good computer skills and be able to navigate current computer programs that are currently in use. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to communicate with others. Must have experience with the Justice Center in order to receive, assign, assess and close complaints for the Justice Center and in the VPCR.
Duties Description Responsible for the supervision, evaluation, scheduling of up to approx. 30 employees; Along with other supervisors, schedule complete, complaint, follow-up and pre-opening inspections for the 275 ACFs in the MARO region. Monitor inspections, direct employees and advise during the inspections. Review and provide QA for inspection reports, instruct employees in improving inspection skills. In charge of the Justice Center and Transitional ACF programs, including assignment, consultation, and evaluation of complaints generated from the Justice Center and maintenance of the VPCR.
Additional Comments Must be available 24/7 in the event of emergencies; ability to travel to outlying counties such as Ulster, Duchess, Sullivan, Suffolk and other areas without public transportation may be necessary. On-site inspections may be necessary. Meeting with outside providers and other agencies.
