Healthcare Chief Risk Advisor
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our National Healthcare Practice Group. As the Chief Risk Advisor, you will work closely with a network of producers, account executives, brokers and other colleagues to drive client retention and new client production. You will lead the development and execution of strategy and innovation and report directly to the National Healthcare Practice Leader. This role will be located in our Washington, D.C. or Chicago, IL office locations.
What the day will look like
- Partner with Producers and Account Executives in the regions to drive new business opportunities; support all RFP activity and responses.
- Active involvement and support of national RFP activity with content for responses, and participation in finalist presentations
- Drive growth opportunities by facilitating local healthcare client/prospect networking events
- Provide peer review auditing on existing client programs re operations, strategy, structure, and risk
- Specific focus on supporting the existing and building out the healthcare team in Aon offices across the country who want to initiate or expand health care focus
- Policy and coverage resource to national health care team and clients, advising on wording, endorsements and court opinions/decision on various options
- Provide technical claims advocacy support to team on large health care clients
- Work closely with Aon Captive Management, Captive Consulting, and Actuarial team to drive effective utilization of alternative risk financing solutions for clients.
- Act as a Strategic Account Manager of certain large, complex health systems
- Publish white papers, articles, client advisories and content for reference of NHCP
- Demonstrate expertise with speaking engagements within industry
- Develop industry leading captive policy wording on primary/retained, as well as consistency of reinsurance contracts
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the content for the National Healthcare Practice Market Update and other client facing collateral.
- Assist in the development of client content – RFP materials, webinars, and other client ready materials
- Coordinates innovation of new products which focus on emerging client un-met needs and competitive differentiators, including Aon Amendatory endorsements and policy forms
- Travel as needed (approx. 25-50%)
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Insurance licensing required – complete required training and exam necessary to obtain appropriate agent’s license(s) (maybe obtained upon employment) and ongoing continuing education.
- Advanced Degree or professional designation may be preferred, including CPCU, CPLU CIC or ARM
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
- 15+ years of health care industry experience.
- Proven knowledge of the Medical Professional Liability product, as well as others, captive/RRG structures and working with PL claims, either as a policy holder or counsel.
- Superior written and communication skills to support conduct of business in a professional manner with external/internal clients and the marketplace.
- Strong teammate who understands the roles and responsibilities of other Aon professionals, assumes responsibility for the timely delivery of a professional work product in accordance with assigned roles, and facilitates communication among team members.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Law degree (preferred)

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $146,000 – $209,800 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
