Compensation (based on experience): $60,300 – $73,901

The Healthcare Data Analyst supports efforts to build and sustain organizational excellence at Esperanza by using data to keep us aligned with our strategic plan and mission and supporting enterprise-wide data needs. This role is part of a growing team at Esperanza and we want people who are creative and can roll up their sleeves to get the job done. Big picture, we want to foster an organizational culture of learning & curiosity around data storytelling at Esperanza, and this position will play a pivotal role in that process.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become a subject matter expert with the electronic medical record’s (EMR), and other data sources, reporting abilities. We want to help stakeholders become familiar with what questions we can answer with our data and what types of reporting capabilities we have.
  • Dive into our electronic medical record, and other data sources, to build reports, troubleshoot reports, export data, review and clean data, and securely share data with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to teams like HR, Finance, Quality, Grants, External Affairs etc.
  • Build new and maintain existing Microsoft Power BI dashboards that we use to help make decisions around clinical quality and operational excellence.
  • Use sound adult learning principles to display data to different stakeholders across the organization so that they understand and get curious about the data. Ultimately, your work will support meaningful decision making that will help us achieve good patient outcomes, improve the patient experience, improve staff satisfaction, and help us make sure we’re stewarding resources efficiently.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to scope their clinical and operational data requirements and create action plans to support these data requirements in alignment with our strategic plan.
  • Assist with EMR administration, support and integration requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent, required.
  • Two years of experience in health care field- clinical or administrative, required.
  • Previous experience in data management, writing SQL queries, Microsoft Suite programs and report writing, required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (e.g., ICD9/10, CPT, etc.).
  • Excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with relational databases and ETL tools would be preferable.
