Why does the job exist?
This position will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the Air National Guard Complex’ heating, ventilation, and central air condition (HVAC) systems. As required, may provide training and guidance to less experienced staff co-workers in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of heating, cooling, and installation systems. Employee will maintain the HVAC control system (DDC), change filters and belts as needed. Working on a variety of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, the incumbent will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, equipment maintenance, operation monitoring, quality control analysis, and recommendations for efficient workflows.

New Mexico Air National Guard staff, Department of Military Affairs (DMA) employees, and the citizens of New Mexico.
Ideal Candidate
HVAC license and two years of experience in heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration maintenance. Experience in HVAC controls. Perform preventative maintenance on boilers, condensers, heat pumps and VAV boxes.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) year of experience in heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration maintenance and/or installing and repairing refrigeration and heating systems. Must be licensed in accordance with NMSA 1978, Section 60-13-33, 36, 38 and 39 and NMSA 1978, Sections 60-13-9., B, and K.

Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions such as hot, cold, humidity, wind, rain and snow. Exposure to sunlight, dust, pollen, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles. On call 24/7 during inclement weather. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Some computer work
