Duties include providing functional supervision as lead worker in the field supervising approximately two employees; conditioning and preparing soil, planting seeds, seedlings or bulbs in greenhouse or outdoor growing areas; fertilizing, watering, weeding, and thinning plants as scheduled; transplanting plants from greenhouse areas to display beds and/or installing potted plants in beds according to work plans; applying herbicides, insecticides and other chemicals as needed; and pruning ornamental plants and trees and performing other duties to maintain grounds on scheduled maintenance. Must be able to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. A valid Class C Texas driver’s license and two years experience are required. Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
PAY GRADE GG10 / FULL PAY RANGE $16.99 – $23.95 PER HOUR
