What does this role entail?
The Foster Parent Licensor position oversees recruitment and training of qualified foster parents who support an individual who is diagnosed with a Developmental Disability and will ensure compliance with state, licensing and contract requirements. This position is ideal for someone who is a team player, goal-oriented, and focused on providing a person centered approach towards people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies for Host Home In-Residence Caregivers.
  • Promote RISE in the community.
  • Build and maintain positive community relationships. Coordinate and participate in job fairs, networking, vendor fairs, etc.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with RISE customers, e.g. funding agencies, county case managers, etc.
  • Maintains qualified pool of applicants, act as a point of contact and build influential relationships during the selection process.
  • Conducts intakes and pre-service training with prospective Host Home In-residence Caregivers.
  • Conduct home studies of prospective Host Home In-Residence Caregivers.
  • Maintain files on each Host Home family to include training, the home study, certification, contact notes, home visits, and other required documentation in Extended Reach.
  • Ensure the In-residence Caregivers files meet state regulations, company policy and licensing standards.
  • Train In-Residence Caregivers on evidence based curriculum
  • Submit completed licensing packets to the state.
  • Assists with licensing reviews.
  • Work in collaboration with the Host Home Coordinator to screen, interview, and make selection decisions for Host Home In-residence Caregivers.
  • Act as an appropriate role model in using appropriate language, dress, manners, and in showing respect.
  • Attend monthly recruitment meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate appropriate discretion.
  • Demonstrate respect and promote choice.
  • Collaborates with management and administrative staff as needed.
  • Perform duties of Host Home Coordinator as operational needs arise;
    • Responsible to recruit, hire, coach, train, evaluate, supervise and discipline Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Verify and approve timecards.
    • Train DSPs on safety and financial plans and appropriately carrying out strategies outlined including emotional and cognitive support, activities of daily living, role-modeling, positive behavior supports, personal protective interventions, promoting choice, and maintaining safety.
    • Review and monitor DSP shift documentation including T-logs and General Event Reports (GERs).
    • Develop, write, and update Individual Support Plan (ISP) documents in partnership with the individual’s team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education in Social Services field or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 year of experience in the field of developmental disabilities or related field strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for daily travel.
  • Required to meet minimum training requirements including Oregon Intervention Systems, CPR, and First Aid classes while employed and complete renewals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and some travel required.
  • Ability to work on call hours required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
