Sr Accounting Clerk is responsible for reviewing, entering, coding, and validating financial transactions, reconciling multiple data sources and preparing reports for management review.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This role is responsible for invoicing customers daily, reviewing shipping documents and proofs of delivery, and distributing invoices to customers through the appropriate channels.
- Ensure orders are invoiced in a timely manner as soon as criteria for revenue recognition is satisfied.
- Understand and apply rigorous internal control structure to all invoicing transactions.
- Processes invoices in an accurate and timely manner which enables the generation of the Stella-Jones monthly and yearly financial statements.
- Proactively engage with transportation and sales personnel for documents and status updates on shipments for timely invoicing
- Ensures customer invoicing is consistent with specific customer requirements and agreements.
- Process approved credit memos
- Special tasks as assigned and participate in projects as needed.
- Participates and contributes to company safety program

- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
- High attention to detail while working with data across different platforms.
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
- Consistently demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates ability to resolve and/or escalate conflict using tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality surrounding sensitive customer or company information.
- Actively participates and collaborates with others on one’s own team and across Stella-Jones for the achievement of business goals
- Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.
