Overview
The Human Resources Assistant assists in the general operations of the Footprint Center’s HR department, reporting into the Senior HR Manager. This is a great position for entry-level candidates interested in a career in Human Resources. This position will have a heavy focus on the recruitment function and is the initial point of contact and first impression for all job applicants.
The Footprint Center is a home to the Phoenix Suns and Mercury basketball teams and hosts concerts and special events year-round. The ability to work nights, weekends and holidays will be required of the HR Assistant.
This role will pay a salary of $40,000 to $50,000.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions (including to but not limited to):
Recruiting:
- Responsible for posting full-time, part-time and internship positions for all F&B positions at the Footprint Center.
- Proactively and responsively contact candidates who apply to positions, review and forward resumes and conduct preliminary phone screenings for Hiring Managers
- Handle general day-to-day administration and maintenance of applicant tracking system including: opening and closing positions, requesting offer letters, monitoring onboarding paperwork
- Order pre-employment background checks and drug tests
- Generate weekly open position reports and other metrics
- Hold Job Fairs and Schedule Interviews
- Community Outreach liaison to our local hiring partners
General HR Support:
- This position, acts as a point of customer service, assisting employees with questions regarding HR programs, policies, and other employment information
- Support and Employee Engagement activities
- Maintain employee records: administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
- Prepare and distribute internal employee communications.
- Assist in benefits administration processes, including health & welfare plan enrollment and changes
- Organize and support employee informational meetings (such as open enrollment and new hire orientation) as necessary.
- Review, track, and document compliance with training and continuing education.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Ensure required labor law information is posted in all offices and conducts annual audits.
- Work with OVG Corporate People Operations team to roll out company initiatives
- Assist other projects and tasks as directed by the Sr HR Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Work experience in an office environment (part time or full time)
- HR internships or experience working with HR preferred
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a friendly, outgoing and personable, and professional demeanor
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Have the ability to thrive in both a team and an independent work environment
- Experience with ATS (iCims experience a plus)
- Proficient in Windows environment required with strong Excel skills preferred
Physical Demands:
- While performing duties of job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, walkie-talkie, etc; occasionally move about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly communicate via telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information.
Work Environment:
- The duties of this position are performed primarily indoors and in an office environment, however, the HR team will need to meet employees at their work stations during events, requiring walking around the Arena.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal-to-moderate during non-event days and moderate-to-loud during event days. (Events may vary in attendance, up to 17,000 guests)
