HR Employee Experience Director

As the senior manager for the Employee Experience Department of the Human Resources Division, you will be responsible for the management of talent acquisition and retention, learning and development, and employee relations and engagement. You will report to the Director of Human Resources and lead the Employee Experience team — coaching and supervising your team leaders, managing your department’s budget, and ensuring the lifecycle employment experience for all employees meets our Company mission, vision, and culture expectations as well as company policies, and federal and state regulatory requirements.
What you might expect on any given day:
As part of the HR management team for our multi-company organization with more than 500 talented and unique employees, you will find each day a different experience, but your responsibilities will have you:
– Develop and implement Company’s overall talent acquisition and retention strategies to leverage current talent and position Company to attract top candidates. Make recommendations to senior management for improvement to employment policies, procedures, and practices to support preferred employer status.
– Oversee learning and development initiatives and programs for leadership development, succession planning, professional skills development, supervisor/management skills enhancement, and soft/power skills growth. Direct programs to upskill employees including: industry specific and technology skills, on-the-job training, etc.
– Develop and manage employee relations, recognition, and communications tactics to elevate and maintain performance standards, acknowledge employee successes, and provide clear messaging on employee- and policy-related topics.
– Plan and direct wellness and DEIB initiatives to promote healthy, positive work environment and integrate Employee Assistance Program benefits; collaborate with HR Employee Services team on benefits communications and programs.
– Develop Employee Experience scorecard metrics; analyze data and prepare management reports based on department/management needs and government reporting requirements; oversee Affirmative Action Plan. Remain current on HR law and Company policies; update policies, procedures, and handbooks accordingly.
– Manage, coach and counsel staff to meet department goals and achieve performance standards; encourage continuous improvement for career and personal development. Drive collaborative team environment.

Education/Certifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
– 10 years of experience in human resources or related field required
– 5+ years of supervisory experience required
– Human Resource certification (SPHR, PHR, APHR) preferred
Skills/Knowledge:
– Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate team toward goals achievement
– Ability to think strategically and apply policies equitably throughout company
– Working knowledge of New York State and federal employment law required
– Ability to plan, manage, execute and complete projects
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; knowledge of ADP HRIS and Cornerstone LMS a plus
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable interacting with internal customers at all levels of the organization and community contacts
– Proven ability to build solid business relationships and offer guidance as appropriate

The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 annually commensurate with experience and education.
Additional compensation may be earned through the Company’s incentive programs, subject to individual and company performance.
