NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$56,100 – $125,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a high-energy and highly motivated HR Specialist to join the HR Solutions organization to help Human Resources ensure accuracy, timeliness, and excellent service. We provide support to all Sandia employees, candidates, and retirees in their moments that matter.

In this role, one will be responsible for providing and guiding resolution on team member inquiries that are beyond the routine level of complexity. The HR Operations Specialist will analyze, troubleshoot, and research issues, and take appropriate action to resolve or further escalate the issue to resolution. This role is specialized in policies and processes supporting HR functional transactional work and has an in-depth understanding of established policies and programs within HR.

This position will work under direction from the HR Solutions Customer Service Team Lead to ensure HR service delivery is consistently high-quality and collaborate with functional areas and Third-Party providers, when necessary.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Guide the customer service sub-team work to ensure high quality interactions, deliverables, and operational results
  • Serve as a sub-team expert on processes, HR programs, and HR policies
  • Provide escalated support within the customer service sub-team to independently resolve or partner with the HR Business Partner or functional area to resolve; professionally and accurately respond to inquiries raised by HR Operations Generalists in a timely manner with a high level of customer service orientation and confidentiality
  • Bring up in-scope complex cases to subject matter experts (SMEs) with appropriate and complete documentation on work performed to date with follow-through until issue is adequately resolved
  • Mentor and train members of the customer service sub-team
  • Perform quality reviews of sub-team work
  • Facilitate sub-team meetings, such as daily stand ups
  • Coordinate with Team Leads, HR Process Specialists, and HR Program Analysts to identify and improve the operational effectiveness of the customer service sub-team
  • Interact with internal (functional areas, HR Business Partnering resources) and external resources (vendors) to obtain needed information to manage work to completion
  • Support higher complexity/level transaction processing
  • Complete special projects for the HR Solutions, COEs, and HR Business Partners

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a relevant field; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing, or interpreting information and data
  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire

  • A Master’s degree in Human Resources or a relevant field
  • Experience analyzing problems, recommending solutions, and implementing process improvements
  • Experience in a shared service environment, verifying employee records, and HRIS systems (PeopleSoft/HCM (preferred) and Oracle Service Cloud)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • The ability to protect and keep personally identifiable information (PII), personal health information, and other information confidential
  • A positive demeanor, strong communication skills, and keen attention to detail with the demonstrated ability to team well with others
  • Prior knowledge of HR concepts and terminology
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, think tactically and strategically, demonstrate objectivity, be results-oriented, and show initiative and creativity
  • A solid customer service orientation
  • Strong computer skills and technical capabilities, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Oracle Service Cloud, and Peoplesoft
  • Must be flexible, work well under pressure, and have the ability to readily adapt to change
  • The ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia’s core values
  • The ability to decode customer expectations, earn trust through results, and to influence/relate to others
  • Experience connecting with people through technology
