What You Will Do
As a Leadership Programs Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing to the mission of Los Alamos National Laboratory through a commitment to working with team members to accomplish strategic objectives within the Human Resources division. Primary responsibilities include partnering with internal clients, in alignment with the Human Resources strategy, to offer expert guidance and valuable solutions for leadership, staff in an engaging, effective, enjoyable manner. Specific duties may include project design, development, delivery and management; consulting and advising senior leaders and line managers; building and managing customer relationships; planning, executing, tracking and communicating specifically defined HR related goals, projects and/or programs.

- Demonstrated ability to understand organizational issues that may impact businesses and their intuitional initiatives.
Transformation Management
- Experience conducting research, performing analysis, sharing findings with colleagues, and preparing materials in support of the assignment or project.
Project Management
- Experience in managing projects, expectations, and timelines.
Program Stewardship and Management
- Experience scheduling, communicating, preparing materials, and facilitating programs.
- Experience working directly with employees, helping to troubleshoot problems with performance management functions or operations, and generating reports from data systems.
Collaborative Engagement and Facilitation
- Experience attending meetings, briefings, presentations, or facilitated discussions to provide thought partnership, logistical support, secondary facilitation, or scribing/data collection.
Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. A Masters’ degree in a related field would be a distinct advantage.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on organizational transformation and large-scale talent management and/or performance management projects in a supportive capacity.
- Experience researching, assembling, and/or evaluating information/data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and then recommending sound practical solutions to complex issues.
- General understanding of the fundamentals of adult learning theory, basic principles of instructional design, and necessary components of effective in-person and online instruction delivered to an adult audience.
- Basic understanding of the fundamentals organizational and leadership development, including organizational design, organizational culture, communication, behavior and dynamics, leaderships theories and philosophies, and principles of leadership development.
- Skilled with effective utilization of Microsoft Office tools and video conferencing software.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 – Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. No Clearance: This position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Term position: Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principal Associate Director.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 years.
