HR QUALITY CONTROL ASSOCIATE

The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). Human Resources Solutions (HRS) supports the human resources needs of the Department of Social Services, the Human Resources Administration, and the Department of Homeless Services through strategic partnership and collaboration, with the goal of creating an inclusive, motivated, and client centered workforce.

Human Resources Solutions (HRS) is recruiting for one (1) Principal Administrative Associate III to function as an HR Quality Control Associate, who will:

Audit cases processed by the Candidate Processing Associates by reviewing personnel actions, (non-new hires actions [promotions] and new hires actions; checking on candidates’ experience and education qualifications; reviewing candidates’ background checks; ensuring accuracy in demographic data collected; reviewing the Traveling Personnel Folders (TPF); and resolving pending/complex related actions), to determine if personnel actions were processed correctly.

Prepare detailed analysis of error causation and impact of errors on a case-by-case basis, by summarizing error findings for use in identifying areas of weaknesses and deficiencies.

Prepare corrective action reports and initiatives.

Ensure that records are current and complete, in compliance with Federal, State and City regulations and agency policies.

Attend meetings with the Executive Director, Recruitment & Onboarding Administration and Director, Onboarding/Quality Assurance to discuss error pattern discovered during Quality Control reviews and assist in the development of training programs to reduce these errors.

Compile and maintain statistical records of weekly and monthly activities of the Processing unit.

Attend meetings and participate in special projects, as needed to support the work and goals of the unit.

Assist with candidate processing and background checks, as needed.

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in “1” above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in “1” above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1”, “2”, or “3” above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in “1” above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in “1” above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.

Preferred Skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and NYCAPS.
• Well organized and detail oriented
