HRBP – ISG Coverage – VP

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President to join the Human Resources Employee Solutions (HRES) team. This is a new group that provides operational (HRES Support) and advisory (HRES Coverage) support to employees, managers and HR Business partner teams, across the firm on processes across the employee lifecycle. This function also works closely with HR product areas to drive efficiencies and best practices in our HR processes.

The Vice President, HRES Coverage, will hold a critical role in the buildout of a centralized HR Employee Solutions model across all businesses in the US. The Vice President will be responsible for growing, developing, and leading a team of HR professionals that will be providing advisory support to employees, managers, and HR Business Partners. As the leader of the team, the Vice President will also handle escalations and provide day-to-day guidance to the team members as related to functions such as performance management, immigration and relocation related inquiries, employee/manager concerns and many more.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a highly matrixed and dynamic work environment, leading a team, and providing excellent HR support in a shared services model.

The Vice President will report into the Head of HRES Coverage, located in New York.

Responsibilities
• Build out HRES Coverage team, which will include identifying resourcing needs, spearheading recruitment efforts in partnership with the recruitment team, and onboarding/training of staff.
• Manage a team of HR professionals, including performance management and career development.
• Identify training needs and develop/deliver training for HRES team (and HRBPs where appropriate)
• Act as a culture carrier, adhering to the Firm’s Core Values and establishing/maintaining Morgan Stanley’s culture amongst the team.
• Support HRES Coverage team members by handling escalations and assessing what items require escalation to HR Business Partners and/or to HR Product Partners.
• Act as a change agent; understand existing processes and work to improve existing processes and practices for increased consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Partner with Head of HRES Coverage to oversee allocation of work, consistency in approach, and streamlining and standardizing processes.
• Collaborate with VP, HRES Support on process mapping and optimization of work as well as on decisions about what HRES Coverage work can be migrated to the HRES Support team over time.
• Ensure team delivers high quality support to employees, managers, HR Business Partners and HR Product Partners on both cyclical and adhoc HR processes by creating and measuring against success metrics and overseeing day-to-day tasks, such as performance management, performance evaluations, relocations, policy/process escalations, and responding to employee concerns.
• Ensure that service delivery standards are consistently met or exceeded by the HRES Coverage team through robust and sustainable processes and controls.
• Assist in defining technology needs and implementing solutions to support the team’s efforts to centralize HR support.

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong background in HR Business Partner/HR Generalist role

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $113,000 and $177,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
