THE POSITION
We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Human Resources Advisor specializing in benefits. If you have a desire to serve the community in which you live, we encourage you to apply. In this position you will:
- Serve as the first point of contact for current and past employees, supervisors, department heads, and benefit vendors for all fringe benefit matters, including FMLA. Assist new and existing employees with enrolling and managing their benefits, provide benefit orientation, and manage employee benefit files.
- Oversee the Fit for Life Wellness program; coach the wellness team leadership and committee members in the planning, marketing and delivery of the program’s strategic plan and activities. Ensure all return-on-investment performance measures, and employee participation requirements and rewards are tracked, reported and processed timely.
- Inform and notify employees of their COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) rights and other benefit provision upon requesting a leave of absence or termination. Administer mandated COBRA requirements.
- Process status changes and open enrollment benefit plan transfers. Ensure timely submission of all insurance and benefit documents for enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Provide vendors appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefit claims.
Needs to have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management or Business Administration and four (4) years of human resources or benefits administration experience.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.
- Working knowledge of laws, rules, regulations and policies/procedures concerning employee benefit programs, Worker’s Compensation, ASRS retirement system, unemployment insurance, ACA and COBRA.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding business-related files, reports and conversations within the provision of freedom of Information act and other applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations.
Compensation:
The salary range is $ 26.58 to $30.57. Starting salary depends on qualification and experience. The town provides a full range of benefits including no-cost to you health coverage and a generous retirement package including participation in the Arizona State Retirement.
**The town is finalizing a Classification study through September 1st.

Benefits
Major benefits for a full-time regular, employee:
- Medical: United Healthcare; Employee coverage paid at 100% by Town. Family coverage optional at $341.55/month.
- Dental: Ameritas; Employee coverage paid at 100% by Town. Family coverage optional at $28.02/month.
- Vision: VSP Network or Eyemed Vision Care, Employee coverage paid at 100%. Family coverage optional at $5.50/month.
- Life Insurance: Town provided supplemental life insurance at one times the employee’s base pay up to $100,000.
- Voluntary Individual and Family Term Life Insurance: Additional term life insurance coverage available for employee, spouse and children.
- General Leave: 120 hours the first year, increasing annually up to 200 hours for hourly employees. That is increased by 40 hours for salaried employees.
- Holidays: Eleven (11) paid holidays; Eight (8) hours per day for FT employees.
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Pre-tax pay deductions to use for eligible medical or dependent daycare costs.

- MediCare: While the Town provides the required contributions towards MediCare we do not participate in Social Security.

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Free counseling and referral services for employees and their immediate families is provided for financial planning, legal services, depression, substance abuse, family/marital and other relationship issues.
